Enable our medical team to save lives.
Overpopulation in refugee camps has caused multiple problems, including outbreaks of life-threatening diseases. The healthcare system is strained, and most hospitals lack adequate supplies.
Dysentery, dengue fever, malaria and COVID-19 are some examples of preventable and treatable illnesses. UNICEF* estimates more than 66,000 cases of measles were reported in children last year, and some 25-30 percent of deaths in children below 5 can be attributed to respiratory tract infections. Hundreds of mothers and children are also seeking treatment for severe malnutrition. HAGAR’s mobile clinic visits the different camps to attend to patients’ needs.
