Trauma-Informed Care Training

Type: Training

Raise the standard of care response for victims of human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse.

They often exhibit responses and thinking that are hard to understand. For example, they may be extremely fearful of authority figures or have an extreme reaction to loud noises. Being trauma-informed enables us to see things from their perspective. When they feel that people respect instead of doubt them, it accelerates their healing and confidence.

Anyone who interacts with survivors – counsellors, frontline officers, judicial staff, healthcare workers, employers, co-workers, family members and friends – should be equipped to respond appropriately. HAGAR focuses on training government officials, frontline staff and help agency partners.
